Over almost two decades, I worked as an editor, journalist and photographer in the music and entertainment industry, based out Kelowna and Vancouver, British Columbia. During this time I had the good fortune of photo sessions with Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard, of ZZ Top; a one-on-one interview with Swiss-Canadian singer and songwriter from Vancouver, British Columbia, Christina Maria Rieder, better known by her stage name Rykka, and Mark Knopfler, of Dire Straits. I also have done interviews and photo sessions with Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar, Grady); Kevin Gontier, Three Days Grace; Tom Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater Revival); Bryan Adams, Josh Ramsay – Mariana’s Trench, and numerous others.
For shows and interviews I almost always used a 50mm 2:1 lens – a fast shutter speed and focal length that was excellent in low light, close-quarter situations. My favourite camera: Nikon D200; 25/186mm and the 50mm lenses were generally all I carried.
As such, I still do feature and port-folio shoots from time to time, with BC musicians. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or inquiries of this nature.
