Sunsets and Water
Vancouver Island is ripe with opportunity for excellent sunset photography. A striking sunset has a way of causing the more thoughtful among us to reflect on the human spirit, and to ask questions of the “why” of life. Over the last few years I’ve captured some wildly vivid sunsets on the British Columbia coast – the quality and calibre of which render them timeless for their beauty and design. As with most photographs, waiting and watching is key. As I search for the defining moment to show itself, the day breathes its last breath before nightfall: that’s the moment that I’m after.
By virtue of my career as magazine editor and investigative journalist, I strive to capture unique combinations of light, subject and odd and interesting juxtapositions, which, together, tell a vivid photographic tale.
The gallery here includes some of my favorite photographs, all of which are available in professional canvas print, metal plate, quality photographic reprint, and art cards. All canvases, prints, plates and art cards are signed and dated (canvas and prints are dated at back).
“There is one thing the photograph must contain – the humanity of the moment.”
